Find a Valuer
The National Council of Jewellery Valuers is the only professional jewellery organisation in Australia that insists its members achieve an approved educational standard and commit to continuous professional development. This ensures they stay up to date with market trends, advances in gemstone treatments and manufacturing techniques.
If you are searching for a member and for some reason they are not listed – they may have retired, for example – then please email the NCJV on info@ncjv.com.au for clarification.
All NCJV Registered Valuers™ have a seal and a registered valuer number. Ask for evidence of this or contact the local state division if you are uncertain of a valuer's membership status.
To prepare for your valuation download the following checklist:
NCJV Registered Valuers™
NCJV members with broad knowledge of jewellery, watches and gemstone valuation, excluding fine arts. Some members are acknowledged experts in certain areas, such as watches, opals and antiques.
NCJV Fine Arts and Specialist Limited Valuers
Some NCJV Registered Valuers™ are fine arts or limited specialist valuers. NCJV Fine Arts valuers value items such as aboriginal arts or rare books, they do not value jewellery.
Specialist limited valuers may only value watches or unset opals, as examples, they are acknowledged specialists in their field. They do not value all jewellery items. This is why they are referred to as specialist limited valuers.
