Kaye Haddy
PRESIDENT
Kaye is a registered valuer based in Western Australia with over 35 years of experience. Known for her accuracy and professionalism, she consistently delivers valuations that meet the highest industry standards. Kaye brings a collaborative spirit to every role she takes on. She was awarded the Julie Myers Award for achieving the highest mark in the practical exam for the Diploma of Gemmology. Kaye is known for her kindness, always ready to listen and share her knowledge.
Derek Gregory
DIRECTOR
Derek began his jewellery career in 1994 as an apprentice at Class A Jewellers, winning multiple awards, including Apprentice of the Year in 1998. He later joined James Thredgold Jewellers, working in retail and manufacturing, and earned a top prize in South Australia while completing a Diploma of Gemmology. Derek is President of the NCJV South Australian Division, also known for his unofficial role as the NCJV’s curator of fun.
Giselle Devereux
DIRECTOR
Giselle is an experienced manufacturing jeweller with over 35 years in the jewellery industry. Giselle brings extensive expertise in education, gemmology, and valuation. She has held key leadership roles within the NCJV, serving as President and Treasurer of the Tasmanian Division, and as a board director on the NCJV National Committee since 2015.
Giselle is known for her easy-going, fun, and spirited nature, always ready to share her expertise and offer guidance with generosity and enthusiasm.
Kym Hughes
DIRECTOR
Kym Hughes has an extensive resume that boasts an array of qualifications with over 30 years of experience. Kym has her own valuation practice and advanced gem testing laboratory on the Gold Coast of Australia and has operated as an independent jewellery valuer since 1998.
With over 20 years of dedication as a former National President, she played a key role in elevating professional education standards within the jewellery industry.
Stephen Diegleman
VICE-PRESIDENT
Stephen has over 50 years of experience in the jewellery industry, beginning his career in the 1970s with Sydney manufacturer and wholesaler A J Sweeney. He joined the NCJV (formerly JATVC) NSW in 1982. Throughout the 1980s, he specialized in valuations in his own business. In 1990, he joined renowned Sydney jeweller Rob Bennett as a partner, specialising in buying, valuing, and sales. Stephen is the NCJV NSW president and has served on their state board since 1999. He has been a National Delegate since 2006.
Corinne Knoll
VICE-PRESIDENT
Corinne is the youngest member of our team and still has over 25 years of experience in the jewellery industry, including twelve years as a registered jewellery valuer and professional designer at Knoll Jewellers. Known for her empathy and deep understanding of clients' needs, she is dedicated to respectful, expert service. Corinne currently serves as Vice President and Treasurer of the Victorian division and Vice President of the National Council, demonstrating her leadership and passion for the industry.
Andrina Fay
DIRECTOR
Andrina is a second-generation jewellery valuer with decades of industry experience. She has owned and operated her family’s successful jewellery business for over 10 years and was recently appointed to the NCJV National Management Committee. A dedicated professional, she was part of Tasmania’s first cohort to complete the 10789NAT Diploma of Applied Gemmology (Valuation). Her deep knowledge, leadership, and commitment to excellence continue to shape her contributions to both her business and the broader jewellery valuation community.
Christine Ezekiel
DIRECTOR
Christine is a registered jewellery valuer with over 25 years of experience, having held the role of Treasurer for the NCJVWA throughout that time. She holds the NCJV-accredited 10789NAT Diploma of Applied Gemmology (Valuation), reflecting her deep expertise in gemmology and appraisal. Renowned for her integrity and precision, Christine also specialises in designing bespoke jewellery pieces that reflect her clients’ personal stories and style. Her work seamlessly blends technical skill with creative vision, making her a trusted professional in both valuation and custom jewellery design.
Janet Young
DIRECTOR
Janet has worked as a jewellery valuer since 2017 and completed her Accredited Diploma of Applied Gemmology Valuation with the NCJV in 2023. She owns GemVal Gemstones and Jewellery Valuations, which operates in Mackay and the Gemfields. Janet serves on both the NCJV Queensland management committee and the GAA Queensland committee, demonstrating her commitment to the industry and dedication to building credibility and trust.
Paul Whittaker
DIRECTOR
Paul is a highly accomplished jewellery professional with over 30 years of retail experience and 9 years in the wholesale gemstone sector. As the owner of an independent bespoke jewellery business, he combines hands-on expertise with a passion for personalised design. A qualified Gemmologist, Diamond Technologist, and Registered Valuer, Paul has also made significant contributions to industry education as a lecturer and convenor for the NCJV Vic Division (1999–2004). His leadership includes roles such as President of the NCJV and Chair of the JAA Vic Valuers, reflecting decades of dedicated committee service.
Peter Gerrard
TREASURER
Peter is a respected leader in the Australian jewellery industry, a founding member and past President of the NCJV, and current National Treasurer. He is also a former Federal President of the GAA and has represented Australia at CIBJO. As the original author of the Jewellery Valuing Manual, Peter has significantly shaped industry standards. Highly educated and esteemed for his professionalism and integrity, he is known for his courteous manner and deep knowledge. Peter continues to mentor and lead within the field, and enjoys playing golf in his spare time.
Catherine Tredrea
SECRETARY
Catherine Tredrea is a highly respected gemmologist and jewellery valuer with extensive experience in high-end jewellery and exclusive items. She has dedicated years to the jewellery industry, notably serving as Secretary of the National Council of Jewellery Valuers. Catherine also co-wrote the Accredited Diploma of Applied Gemmology Valuation course, shaping the future of industry professionals.
Known for her unwavering support and mentorship, Catherine is deeply respected by her peers and always willing to share her vast knowledge. Her dedication to excellence and passion for gemmology has made her a valuable asset to the community.
